This simple guide will help you backup any DVD movie that you own and also make it region free. Another nice thing about this tutorial is we use only the best freeware software to accomplish this task. This means don't spend a dime and get all the software necessary to backup your DVD collection. Only thing that isn't free, is the blank DVD-R discs to burn the backups to.

Before we begin, remember do not copy DVDs that you do not own! It is illegal to make a copy of a movie for use if you do not own the original. This new guide requires two pieces of software to accomplish this task:
As for other necessary parts, they go as follows:
- Windows based computer (I used Windows XP to write this guide. I'm not sure what other versions of Windows the software mentioned above will work on. If you have had luck in another OS, drop a comment below to help out others.}
- DVD-RW drive
- Blank DVD-R's
Simply download both pieces of software and install both programs. Now you can continue with the tutorial.
